So what is Google AdSense, and how can we make use of it?
Created by the technology company Google, AdSense is an advertising program that assists with presenting ads relevant to the viewers’ interests. It is effortless to begin, and start following the two-step process: adding Google AdSense`s code into your website or channel, choosing places for ads that will appear on the website. All ads are created and paid by the advertisers, and in this regard, the price they pay to the site owner is different for each site depending on its traffic (and other parameters).
Top banner sizes for mobile and desktop
There are a lot of different sizes for a website ad banner. It would be best if you are careful about the ad placement and not overdo the page with ads (max three banners). We will share with you the top banner sizes for:
Those banner sizes are the top examples for desktop.
Those banner sizes are the top examples for mobile.
But how does Google AdSense work and would it cost me anything?
As noted in Google Support in order to use their ad tool, you must ensure that your website covers all the requirements:
- Your website must have unique content (high quality, original, and attractive);
- You must follow the AdSense Program policy;
- Applications have to be from over 18 years old applicants. In case the applicant is under 18 years old, then it is required that a parent or guardian sign up for them.
Note: If you want your website to be eligible, you must have as much content as possible in it, and of course, it has to provide significant value to the audience visiting your website.
In other words, to create an account in Google AdSense, you will need your Gmail Account. Then you have to choose where it would be most appropriate for the ads to be placed on your site. After that, add the code on your website and wait (the steps for registration and receiving the code are explained further in this article). All the rest, like administration, sorting, and maintenance will be done by Google. And the best part is that you will receive money by doing this. Of course, there is a big “BUT”: you must have both organic and direct traffic to your website or channel.
Would Adsense cost me anything?
You can apply for the program on your site, and it won’t cost you anything. Yes, you won’t be making much money at first (because you won’t have any audience), but in this way, you will have a clear picture of your monthly revenue and watch it how it grows. Best of all, you’ll be gathering much data that could be very useful in the future analysis of the results so far and possibly improve those results.
How to make a registration for a Google AdSense account?
The registration in Google Adsense can be made in several simple steps:
- Create a Gmail account (if you do not have yet);
- Go to Google AdSense`s Website and click on the button, “Get Started.”
- Fill in the registration forms.
- Fill in your “Payment address details”.
- Connect your site to AdSense
Follow those steps, and you will register your website in Adsense and gain the needed Code.
Step 1 – You need a Gmail account.
It is better to make a new one with the name of your website and separate these activities from your personal Google Account (Gmail).
Step 2 – Go to Google AdSense`s Website and click on the button, “Get Started.”
Step 3 – Fill in the first registration form of the Google Adsense account.
URL of your site – here write down your website’s domain.
“Your email address” – use the email from step 1 or your personal Gmail Account which is easier for you.
“Get helpful AdSense info at that email address” – just choose the preferable option for you.
After that click on the “SAVE AND CONTINUE” button.
Step 4 – Fill in the second registration form.
As you can see here you can change your Google Account if you have some second thoughts.
– Select your country or territory – select the country from which you will manage the account.
– After carefully reading the Terms and Conditions click on the box “Yes, I have read and accept the agreement”.
After that click on the “CREATE ACCOUNT” button.
Congratulations. You have an account in Google AdSense. There are 2 more steps to finish.
Step 5 – Payment address details
After finishing the registration form Google open Your AdSense Profile and you will see another form that has to be filled as shown on the picture. This is the “Payment address details”.
– Customer info – here you could choose your account type: business or Individual.
If you choose the business type account then a new field will appear for the name of your company. After filling up all the needed information click on the “Submit” button.
Step 6 – Connect your site to AdSense
Another page will appear “Connect your site to AdSense”. You can see the picture.
This is the most important part. Here you will receive your personal Code!
Just follow the instructions and everything will be fine.
Note that you have the option to change the URL of your website if you want to.
The important thing here is that you have to copy your ad Code and put it on your website. After you make it, then click on the box ”I`ve pasted the code into my site” and then click “DONE.” If you do not do this, a pop-up window will appear, as shown in the picture.
Do not panic when you see it! This means that AdSense does not see your code on your website. If you are facing this pop-up window there has to be a mistake somewhere down the road.
First click on “Got it” and then the previous page will appear. Check your website’s HTML again for any missing character or letter, verify your code.
After making the correction, then click again “Done”, and now you are a proud owner of Google AdSense Code on your website and your registration is ready.
If you are facing difficulties with step 6, then follow the next steps.

Do you need to have views/audiences on your website to start working with Google AdSense?
You do not need any current views to start working with AdSense. You can apply for it any time you want. If you meet the needed requirements, Google will be more than happy to start displaying ads on your website. BUT if you don’t have a particular number of views per month, you won’t receive any money (or the sum will be neglectable). So, start writing unique content!
Note: Now is really hard for websites to be approved. The unique content and niche are a must, so take your time to make it happen. If your website does not meet the Google Adsense requirements, it will not be admitted!
How much income can you earn from Google AdSense?
How much money you can earn from Google AdSense is very difficult to be specified. As a publisher, you could earn from 0.10$ to 100$ a day or even more from ads…. if your website is well established and grows exponentially. Also, there are a lot of factors that your website and content must follow: demographic indicator, the topics, and niche of your blog, ad placement (e.g., some best examples for ad placement are: above the post, in between the article (if you have a blog) and sidebar banner), the types of ads (image, text or both), ad blending, the so-called “bid types” – CPC (cost-per-click), RPM (Revenue per 1000 impressions), CPM (cost per 1000 impressions), CPE (cost-per-engagement) and others.
More comprehensive information about those bid types will be described in another article.
